On Oct 31st, the two-day Kernel Microbiological Class (Phase II) ended perfectly. This is the first microbiological training course for the dealer team after Phase I Kernel Microbiological Class in July this year.

Kernel Microbiological Class is a microbiology training course jointly organized by Kernel and College of Life Science and Technology of Huazhong Agricultural University (hereinafter referred as "College of Life Sciences and Technology of HAU"). According to the different knowledge levels, the Class was set up into four step-up courses of "cognition, understanding, application and innovation". This time, our "Understanding Class" will enable students to go into the world of microbes and learn more about microbes. At the same time, it will also enable them to experience college life again in Huazhong Agricultural University and start a special learning journey.

Before the course, Mr. Sun Gangzhong, senior manager of Kernel marketing department, presided over the opening ceremony. Dr. Liu Huamei, President of Kernel Microbiological Class, Professor Sun Ming, Chancellor of Kernel Microbiological Class and Mr. Li Qing, General Manager of Kernel delivered speeches. Kernel Microbiological Class aims to popularize microbiological knowledge, improve cognition of microbes, enhance the synergy between microbial application and innovative, and help growers improve their planting environment with biotechnology. Through this training, we believe that the dealer team will know more about Kernel and microorganisms.

The training was strongly supported by College of Life Sciences and Technology of HAU. Three top experts on microbes research – Prof. Li Youguo, academic leader of the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology of Huazhong Agricultural University and doctoral supervisor, Prof. Sun Ming, doctoral supervisor of the College of Life Science and Technology of Huazhong Agricultural University, and Ms. Ruan Lifang, professor of College of Life Science and Technology of Huazhong Agricultural University were invited to bring Three classic theoretical courses respectively: Rhizosphere Microorganisms and Nutrient Absorption, Rhizosphere Microorganisms and Nematodes, and Rhizosphere Microorganisms and Soil-borne Diseases.

After the theory course, the students experienced the experimental course. The teachers gave explanation and operation guidance on basic experimental operation, spore staining and microscopic examination, preparation of plate, plate confrontation, separation of root-knot nematode eggs, microscopic observation of nematode eggs, bioassay, etc. which brought the students the magic experience in microbial world.

During the training, the students also visited the Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of Microbial Products Quality, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (Wuhan), the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology and the Museum of Huazhong Agricultural University.

The Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of Microbial Products Quality, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (Wuhan) is a legal product quality inspection institute that has passed the national metrological certification and authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, to provide the supporting data. It is a public welfare and non-profit institute.

Visiting the Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of Microbial Products Quality, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (Wuhan)

The State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology is a state key laboratory established in 2003 by Professor Chen Huagui, the founder of Soil Microbiology in China and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, integrating the research advantages of Huanong in three disciplines: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Fermentation Engineering.

Visiting the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology

The Museum of Huazhong Agricultural University has systematically preserved and displayed nearly 300000 specimen accumulated since the beginning of the founding of P. R. China. The basic display of the museum takes "Natural collections and Cultural treasures" as the display theme and "Life science" as the core display content. The exhibition is divided into six units: Preface hall, Diverse insects (insects), Wild nature (wild animals), Tame animals (animal husbandry and veterinary), Herbal world (plants) and Earth treasures (soil, geology and minerals).

Visiting the Museum of Huazhong Agricultural University

In two days, 32 dealers from all over the country learned the theoretical courses and experimental operation of microbiology in Huazhong Agricultural University, visited the Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of Microbial Products Quality, the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology and the Museum of Huazhong Agricultural University, successfully gained the Certificate of Completion issued by Huazhong Agricultural University, and spent a precious and unforgettable campus time. We hope more and more students could enter Kernel Microbiological Class in future to experience the mysterious power of microorganisms with us.
